The New York State School System

The New York State Education Department runs one of the largest school systems in the nation. The website of the NYS Education Department is very extensive and informative, and always a good place to start for more information on Education in New York State. It contains the NYS Ed Department list of Program Offices and their respective sites, all containing reports and information, as well as the program description handbook whose table of contents shows the full breadth of the department's programs.

The Education Department also provides school report cards for every school in New York State (these reports are in pdf format), as well as information on the school districts in New York State.
